## About Reformed Church of Lutița

The Reformed church of Lutița (Agyagfalva in Hungarian) stands in the middle of the village, in a courtyard enclosed by a low tiled stone wall with buttresses. The village existed in the 13th century, but the year the church was built is not known; judging by its style, the Gothic part is dated to the 14th–15th centuries. The stone portal on the west side was made around 1505–1515, and a congregation with a church is documented in 1506. The apse closes on five sides of an octagon and is supported by Gothic buttresses, while the south wall has two windows with stone surrounds and pointed arches.

The bell tower stands apart from the nave. It began as a bastion, and its lower levels carry a stone with the monogram of 1628; it was raised in 1806 and again in 1881. The apse was damaged before 1739, and its vault was replaced with a coffered ceiling, as in the nave. Later renovations wore away much of the Gothic detail, especially inside.

The church belongs to the village's Reformed parish and is a historic monument (LMI code HR-II-m-A-12863.01).

### What you can see
