## About Bucovina Ski Slope

The Bucovina ski slope is a small ski area at the entrance to Câmpulung Moldovenesc from Gura Humorului, on the hillside beside Strada Valea Caselor, a few hundred metres from the DN17. Privately run, it opened at the end of December 2021 and was designed for beginners, for children and for adults learning to ski.

Unlike the Rarău slope in the south of the town, with its gondola and a run of almost 3 km through the forest, the Bucovina slope has short, gentle runs, suited to your first days on skis. It is close to the town centre, so an hour of skiing or sledging fits easily into a day spent in Câmpulung.

### What you can see

A drag lift climbs the hillside, and beside it short runs of 400–500 m come down, mostly for beginners, one of intermediate difficulty. At the bottom there is a conveyor belt for the little ones, and a separate run is set aside for sledging. The slope has snow cannons and is floodlit for evening skiing.

### Good to know

The slope only operates in winter, when natural snow or snow made by the cannons allows; the start of the season depends on the cold and may be delayed until January. For advanced skiers, the Rarău slope is about 8 km away.

## Don't miss

- Your first runs down the short beginners' slopes, going up on the drag lift.
- The conveyor belt at the bottom, for children learning to ski.
- The separate sledging run, for those who do not ski.
- Evening skiing on the floodlit slope.

## Good to know before you go

### Getting there

**By car:** the slope is on the eastern edge of Câmpulung Moldovenesc, at the entrance from Gura Humorului: from the DN17 (Calea Bucovinei) turn into Strada Valea Caselor, and the foot of the slope is ~300 m along. From the town centre it is ~6 km (~15 minutes), from Gura Humorului ~28 km (~45 minutes) on the DN17, from Suceava ~64 km (~1 hour 30 minutes) and from Vatra Dornei ~48 km (~1 hour 20 minutes). The Rarău slope is ~8 km away (~15 minutes). In winter, make sure your car is equipped for winter conditions.

### Fees & discounts

The drag lift is paid: day passes and single rides are sold, with reduced prices for children, and the price per ride falls the more rides you buy. Prices may change from one season to the next.

### Rules

On the slope, keep to the markings and safety rules; sledging is only allowed on the run set aside for it, not on the ski runs. Take the drag lift in turn, along the marked track, without leaving it before the top. Young children ski accompanied by an adult or an instructor.

### Facilities

Drag lift · conveyor belt for beginners · sledging run · floodlights for evening skiing · snow cannons · ski lessons for children
