# Tourist attractions in Galați County

Galați County is the southern corner of Moldavia, where the Siret and the Prut flow into the Danube. The county seat, Galați, is a large river port and steel town, with a long Danube embankment, the Public Garden and museums of history and art; Tecuci is the second town. What you can visit in Galați County has more to do with water and plains than with mountains: Lake Brateș, the Prut floodplain and the vineyards of Nicorești. For the rest of the region, see the [Moldavia](https://peplaiuri.ro/en/region/moldova) page.
