The "salt cave" at Turda is [Turda Salt Mine](https://peplaiuri.ro/en/salina-turda), a salt mine, not a cave: opening hours and prices are in the [guide to the salt mines of Romania](https://peplaiuri.ro/en/guides/saline-din-romania).

## Ialomița Cave, Peștera village, Hotel Peștera: which is which

"Peștera" (Romanian for "cave") is also a place name, and searches get mixed up:

- **Ialomița Cave** is the cave in the Bucegi, with the monastery at its entrance, in Moroeni commune (Dâmbovița). It is also called Ialomicioara Cave. **Hotel Peștera** and the Padina – Peștera area are one kilometre above it, and the Babele – Peștera cable car comes down there.
- **Peștera village**, in Moieciu commune (Brașov), is a different place, about 90 km from Ialomița Cave by road. Ten minutes' walk from the village is the [Bat Cave at Moieciu](https://peplaiuri.ro/en/pestera-liliecilor-moieciu). When you search for "Peștera Brașov", the results are often about this village.
- **Peștera commune in Constanța County** is a locality, not a cave. The caves you can visit in Dobruja, such as [St Andrew's Cave](https://peplaiuri.ro/en/pestera-sfantul-andrei), are in the [guide to the caves](https://peplaiuri.ro/en/guides/pesteri-din-romania).

On the GPS, for Ialomița Cave search for "Hotel Peștera, Moroeni" or "Mănăstirea Peștera Ialomiței", not just "Peștera".

- [Ialomița Cave](https://peplaiuri.ro/en/ialomita-cave) — Caves · Moroeni, DB · 30 lei · ½ – 1 hours · Top 100
A cave cut into the wall of the Ialomița Gorge, in the heart of the Bucegi Mountains at 1,660 m, with a monastery built against its mouth and 480 m of lit galleries leading to the Bears' Hall and the Altar.
- [Bat Cave at Moieciu](https://peplaiuri.ro/en/bat-cave-at-moieciu) — Caves · Peștera, BV · 45 min
A natural cave 162 m long in the village of Peștera, Moieciu commune: a natural monument with bat colonies and traces of Palaeolithic occupation, a few minutes' walk from the village.
