## About Mărișel Ski Slopes

The Mărișel ski slopes, which the operator calls Ski & Bike Resort Mărișel, are a ski area in the commune of Mărișel, Cluj county, in the Gilău Mountains, part of the Apuseni Mountains. The slopes run down the hillside facing [Lake Beliș-Fântânele](https://peplaiuri.ro/en/lacul-belis-fantanele), beside the DJ107P county road that links Mărișel with Gilău. The area was built from scratch, on a hillside that had never had a slope, after a project announced in 2018 by the operators of the Feleacu slope.

In winter Mărișel is a place for a day's skiing and snowboarding, less than an hour and a half from Cluj-Napoca, with slopes for beginners, experienced skiers and experts, plus a separate sledging run. In summer the chairlift carries cyclists up to the bike trails laid out on the hillside.

### What you can see

From the base of the area, the four-seat detachable chairlift climbs in a few minutes to the top of the slopes. In all there are about 5 km of slopes between 915 and 1,240 m: a long, wide blue slope suited to beginners, a red slope that turns steep after an easy start, and a black slope for experts that branches off the red one. Two drag lifts serve the shorter sections, including a gentle slope for children. The slopes are floodlit for evening skiing and have snowmaking, and from them you can see the reservoir and the ridges of the Apuseni.

### Good to know

The company that runs the slopes is in insolvency proceedings, so whether the lifts will run from one season to the next is uncertain: before setting off, check that the slopes are open. The lifts run depending on snow and weather.

## Don't miss

- Skiing the red slope, which starts at the top of the area and turns steep after the first few hundred metres.
- The ride up on the four-seat chairlift, with views of Lake Beliș-Fântânele.
- The long, wide blue slope, good for your first days on skis.
- Evening skiing on the floodlit slopes.
- In summer, the bike trails on the hillside, with uplift by chairlift.
