Feleacu Ski Slope
About Feleacu Ski Slope
The Feleacu ski slope, also known as Teleschi Feleacu, is a small ski area on the hill on the edge of Cluj, in the commune of Feleacu (Erdőfelek in Hungarian). It is about 10 km from the city centre, so an hour or two of skiing or snowboarding is possible after work, without a long drive into the mountains. The slope opened in early 2015 and is privately run.
Because it is close to the city and has snow cannons, its season starts even when no snow has fallen in Cluj: the small beginners' slope often opens first, and the rest follows when temperatures allow. Fun Park Cluj, with winter attractions for those who do not ski, operates on the same ridge.
What you can see
The main slope is about 765 m long and is served by a drag lift. It is floodlit for evening skiing and has snow cannons. Alongside it is a separate beginners' slope.
At the base, ski and snowboard equipment can be rented. On clear days the hill gives a view of the city of Cluj-Napoca.
Good to know
The slope runs only in winter, for as long as natural or machine-made snow lasts, and the start of the season depends on the cold.
