About Bordei Park

Bordei Park is a small, quiet park in northern Bucharest, in Sector 1, on the shore of Lake Floreasca, just downstream of the lock that links the lake with Lake Herăstrău. A road bridge separates it from King Michael I Park (Herăstrău). It was laid out from 1936 and covers about 3.3 hectares, with the entrance from Mircea Eliade boulevard. Because it stays in the shadow of its much larger neighbour, it is usually less crowded.

What you can see

The park has paths paved with block pavers, lined with wrought-iron benches, and wide lawns on the waterfront among old trees, including willows and plane trees. The most pleasant stroll is along the lake, where the water can be seen between the trees and, on the shore, leisure buildings. The bust of the poet Nichita Stănescu stands among the trees. There is a playground for children. The lake is home to ducks and other waterbirds, and the park is a good stop on the way to Herăstrău.
